Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Forven website and the open-source Forven software (together, “Forven”). By using Forven, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Forven.

1. Free and open-source software

Forven is free and open-source software, provided at no charge under AGPL-3.0-or-later. It is early-stage (v0.1) software: features may change, break, or be removed, and it is provided without any service-level commitment.

2. License

Forven's source code is free and open source, licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (“AGPL-3.0-or-later”). Your rights to run, study, modify, and redistribute the software are granted by that license, a copy of which accompanies the source. These Terms govern your use of this website and do not limit the rights the AGPL grants you in the software.

3. No account required

Forven is self-hosted: you clone the source and run it on your own machine, and you do not create a Forven account to use it. This website is informational and does not require you to sign in.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Forven to break the law, infringe others' rights, or disrupt the service. You are responsible for complying with the terms of any exchange, broker, or model provider you connect.

5. Not financial advice

Forven is research software, not an investment adviser, broker-dealer, or signal service. Nothing in Forven or on this site is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any asset. Trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. All strategy names, metrics, and performance figures shown on this site are illustrative samples — not real, projected, or guaranteed results. Past performance does not indicate future results. You are solely responsible for your own trading decisions and any resulting gains or losses.

6. Third-party services

Forven can connect to third-party services you choose (for example, exchanges and LLM providers) using credentials you supply. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

7. No warranty

Forven is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Forven will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result will be achieved.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Forven and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any trading or investment losses, loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of Forven. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to Forven will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which is zero, since Forven is free) or USD 100.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Forven and its operators from claims arising out of your use of Forven, your trading activity, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using Forven at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New Brunswick, Canada for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Forven.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. We will revise the “last updated” date above.
